Dragoș Horia Manda

Horia Manda is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Patria Bank. He has over seventeen years’ experience in private equity in Southeast Europe and an impressive track record as Chairman or member of the Board of Directors of various private equity funds such as the Romanian American Enterprise Fund (RAEF), Balkan Accession Fund (BAF) and Emerging Europe Accession Fund (EEAF), with a special focus on the financial services sector.

In his career, Mr. Manda has personally overseen capital investments of over 200 million euro, with successful projects in various industries such as IT, retail, financial services, energy and manufacturing.

Mr. Manda holds a PhD in Mathematics from the Paris VII University in France (1993), an MBA (summa cum laude) from the Romanian-Canadian MBA Program (McGill, Quebec – Montreal University, Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest, 1996) and a M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Bucharest (1984).

Daniela Elena Iliescu

Daniela Iliescu is a member of the Patria Bank Board of Directors and she has extensive experience in the financial sector (financial management, reporting and budgeting) as she worked with major institutions such as the Emerging Europe Accession Fund (EEAF) and Balkan Accession Fund (BAF). Mrs. Iliescu is very actively involved in monitoring equity fund investments in the financial services sector. The most relevant ones are the investments in Patria Bank and Patria Credit.

Previously she worked for seven years with PWC Romania and she was responsible for coordinating the audit and financial advisory services for major clients in banking, leasing and credit and asset management companies.

She graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest and she is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chamber of Romanian Auditors and the Romanian Accountants Organization. She also holds an MBA from the Executive MBA Program of the University of Vienna.

Bogdan Merfea

Bogdan Merfea

Bogdan Merfea is former CEO of Patria Bank, has a management experience of more than 10 years, previously holding CEO in Patria Credit IFN and Raiffeisen Bank Kossovo.

In parallel with the development of a university career for over 18 years, Since 1995, Merfea has coordinated projects and programs to support and promote micro-enterprises and SMEs in Romania.

Active Promoter of Financial Inclusion, Mr. Merfea is an active member of the European Microfinance Network and is still the Chairman of CA in Patria Credit. Mister. Merfea has extensive academic experience, is a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Master in Business Management, and is also attending courses at the prestigious INSEAD School.

Nicolae Surdu

Nicolae Surdu

Mr. Surdu is an experienced banker with over 20 years of experience in the Romanian banking sector, having an exposure in a number of international and local banks and having expertise both in general banking management and in reorganization, restructuring and organizational recovery (formerly Banca Comerciala Carpatica and former Tiriac Bank), as well as start-up banks (Fortis Bank România). Mr. Surdu is specialised in Corporate Banking, SME & Retail Banking, Restructuring , Risk management, start-up banks.

Mr. Surdu held the position of member of the Board of Directors of the former Patria Bank SA (2014 - April 2017).

Mr. Surdu is a graduate of the Faculty of Commerce at ASE Bucharest, holding an MBA - Indiana Wesleyan University, USA.

Vasile Iuga

Since 1991, Mr. Iuga joined PriceWaterhouseCoopers Romania (PwC), becoming a partner in 1997, and between 2004 and 2015 he was Country Managing Partner for Romania, with more than 600 employees in five regional offices. Between 2008 and 2015, he was PwC Managing Partner for South East Europe, coordinating the company's activity in nine countries, and between 2004 and 2015 he was a PwC CEO for Central and Eastern Europe.

Mr. Iuga was a member of the Board of Directors of Aspen Romania, and for many years he was Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AMCHAM).

Financial auditor authorized by NBR and FSA (for banks, insurance companies and listed companies), financial consultant with a complex experience of over 26 years in the field of implementation of international financial reporting standards of financial audit, Mr. Iuga has participated in various business appraisal and restructuring projects in takeovers, mergers, business acquisitions, privatizations and strategic consultancy.

Mr. Iuga is a graduate of the Faculty of Aeronautics of the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest. He graduated from Harvard Business School, London Business School, Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires/European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD, Fontainebleau, Paris) and the International Institute for Management Development (IMD, Lausanne).

Valentin Vancea

Valentin Vancea is the CEO of Patria Bank and previously held the position of Deputy General Manager IT & Operations, as well as other positions in the top management of the Patria Group (Member of the Board of Directors of Patria Asset Management). With over 25 years of experience in the financial and banking field, Valentin has worked at KPMG, Bank Austria Creditanstalt, HVB Bank Romania, Unicredit Romania and Volksbank Romania, being involved in strategic processes in the field of managers & acquisitions, process optimizations, restructuring project and business turn-around.

Valentin was Vice President of ANSSI (National Association for Information Security) and Executive Director at Star Storage, coordinating the business development and strategy segment.

Between 200 and 2011, he held various management positions in the audit area at Unicredit, HVB Tiriac Romania and Bank Austria Creditanstalt and the position of Vice President of Volksbank Romania. Valentin is a graduate of Academy of Economics Studies and holds an MBA in Financial Management and Financial Services from City University Washington.

Georgiana Stănciulescu

Georgiana Stănciulescu

Georgiana has been part of the Patria Bank team for over 7 years, holding various management positions in the financial area. With over 16 years of experience in the banking industry working in Credit Agricole, Emporiki Bank and Piraeus Bank and expertise in coordinating the complex area of financial management - budgeting, planning, controlling and reporting, Georgiana is one of the key leaders who contributed to the development of Patria Bank, having a decisive role in important projects such as the merger, the acquisition of two business lines, the transition to IFRS 9 and the implementation of Fund Transfer Pricing in order to develop profitability analyzes. Georgiana is by definition a professional of numbers, financial and business projections and, before anything, of people. Her values are ethics, integrity, passion and professionalism and she brings them into the business vision in which people and performance are the main pillars of stability and growth.

Răzvan Vasile Prodea

Deputy General Manager, Risk Division

Răzvan Prodea started his career in the banking system within the Carpatica Bank and of the more than 20 years of experience, more than half were dedicated to risk management. In the last 8 years he has held various management positions whitin Patria Bank and since March 2023 he is authorized by the BNR for the position of Deputy General Manager of the Risk Division. Mr. Prodea is a graduate of: Lucian Blaga Univerity in Sibiu- Faculty of Economic Sciences- Finance-Insurance Section.
